How to Draw Rudolph

Step 1

To start this guide on how to draw Rudolph, let’s start with his head. There are many details to work with here. While it may seem intimidating, you’ll get there easily if you take it slow!

We’ll give Rudolph a big round eye to make him look even cuter. Then you can add a moon-like curved shape in the eye for the large pupil. Then you can use some jagged rounded lines to create the hair above her eyes. Then you can use more curved lines for the horns and ears.

Finally, you can use pointy shapes for the front of the smiling pointy face and neck. That’s all there is to this step, and you’re good to go to Draw Rudolph!

Step 2

In this second part of your Rudolph drawing, you’ll add the bell collar for the little guy.

You can start this element by drawing three small circles around his neck. Then you can add a small cross shape inside each bell, as shown in the reference image. Then you can use two curved lines for the collar itself.

Finally, use two more curved lines from the collar for Rudolph’s chest and back to Draw Rudolph.

Step 3

We’ll start with his legs for the third step of our tutorial on how to draw Rudolph. His legs will be slender and look rather plain.

Draw them with simple curved lines, then add their little hooves to the end. When you’re happy with how it looks, the next step is to add the other legs to Draw Rudolph.

Step 4

You’ve already made two legs for your Rudolph drawing, and now you can add the next two! These look different from the first two as they have a sharper camber than the front two, which were very straight.

Aside from this difference, they look structurally similar to the first two and have two small hooves on their ends to Draw Rudolph.

Step 5

It’s almost time to add some awesome colours to this guide to drawing Rudolph! But before that, we have a few more details and elements that you can add to your design.

You can also add some personal information. First, use some rounded curved lines for the tail behind him. Once you’ve drawn it, you must add a few details before moving on to the final step.

First, you can add a few small jagged lines around the midpoint of each leg. Then you can draw a few lines extending from your nose across your face, neck, and stomach.

You can also add a line near the tip of the ear there to get some detail to Draw Rudolph.

This will suffice for the details in this guide, but as said, feel free to add some details of your own! You could design a nice background to show what a Christmas setting Rudolph and his friends are in!

What kind of background would you use for this image? We can’t wait to see what creative touches you come up with!

Step 6

This brings you to the final part of your Rudolph drawing, where you’ll have lots of colouring fun! In our reference image, we used shades of brown for different areas of Rudolph’s body and then red and yellow for his collar and bells.

However, this is only possible; you should colour it any way you like! If you have drawn background elements or added other details, you can also colour them.

However, the choice of colour is only one part! You can also have fun using your favourite artistic mediums to bring the colours to life to Draw Rudolph.

Watercolours would be a great way to add a classic feel to this Christmas image. If so, you could use a lighter medium, like crayons or acrylic paint, to show a cone of red light from his nose.
